BBI Workshop on Bio-Based Polymers 2021

Bio-based polymers are on the rise! What are the challenges? How do bio-based plastics, sustainability and the new single-use plastics directive fit together? What is already possible?
Seven projects will present their latest results: From the valorisation of wastewater over biodegradable, biocompatible wound dressings and automotive prototypes derived from organic waste to FDCA based on agricultural co-products and bio-smart packaging.
The free online workshop on bio-based polymers is organised within the framework of the EU-funded AFTERLIFE project and also features six other research projects on bio-based polymers from the BBI JU (Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking) call 2016. Moreover, a nova-Institute expert will provide differentiated insights into the single-use plastics directive and answer questions from the speakers and the audience. The workshop will take place on 29 March 2021 from 13:00 to 16:40 CET.

And now the seven projects and their innovative bio-based polymer technologies and applications in more detail!
