lnnoven (Innovation for the Environment) Srl is a young R&D company in the sectors of organic waste, wastewater and energy. Born as a spinoff of the Department of Biotechnology of the University of Verona starting from the experiences of the group of researchers working in the field of environmental technologies and process it is growing up fast with a particular emphasis on the development bio-based compounds.
lnnoven Srl has a considerable experience in the fields of treatment of wastewater, sludge and other municipal/industrial/agricultural organic waste streams for the production of bio-based compounds (including biofuels} and products. lt is owner of a patent for the production of bio-polymers (poly-hydroxy-alkanoates) from anaerobic supernatant.
Role in the project:
Innoven Srl develops the activities related to the anaerobic digestion of the low value-added organic matter in order to obtain volatile fatty acids (feedstock for the production of PHA) (WP3) and to produce a biofuel (biogas) for the generation of energy within the process (WP4). This way, Innoven Srl has a key contribution in the zero-waste scheme proposed for AFTERLIFE process.
